Phu Quoc is an almost unknown destination in Vietnam. International tourists and Vietnamese alike just recently discovered Phu Quoc. It is not hard to see why many tourists are boasting of the splendid natural beauty and untouched remote beaches of this spectacular tropical island.

Geographically, Phu Quoc island is located in the Gulf of Thailand, covering a total area of approximately 580 km², close to the main asian cites of Singapore, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. It is closer to Cambodia than the closest mainland town of Ha Tien in Vietnam in the Kien Giang province, which is 46 km away.

Although Phu Quoc is a new holiday destination, in the first quarter of 2007, about 50,000 visitors came to the island of which 50 per cent were foreign tourists.  According to new targets released by the Government, Phu Quoc is aiming to attract 2-3 million visitors annually by 2020, with a larger portion of foreign tourists.

Phu Quoc is blessed with favourable natural environment like the virgin forest of over 37,000 hectares, white sandy beaches, coral gardens offshore, varieties of wildlife species, so it is not hard to see why the island has great tourist potential. The government has formed a master plan to develop the island into a high quality eco-tourism destination by 2020. As investment starts to flow into Vietnam, the Island will slowly undergoing development and improved infrastructure. The Prime Minister has offered the best preferences possible for domestic and foreign investors to allow development of the Island, leading to an international standard tourist and trade centre by 2010 through to 2020.

In the third quarter of 2008, officials plan to start construction on an 800 hectare international airport that can accommodate large passenger jets and link the island with major regional hubs (e.g., Singapore, Thailand, China, Japan, Hong Kong, etc).

Day 1 : Ho Chi Minh City - Phu Quoc Island

Pick up and transfer to Tan San Nhat airport to board flight VN 479 to Phu Quoc (10.15 - 11.15am). Pick up and transfer to your resort. Relax on your own private beach in the afternoon. Overnight at your chosen report on Phuquoc island.

Day 2 : Phu Quoc ( Swimming in the South ) ( B,L )

Breakfast at your hotel. Then drive to An Thoi port, stopping off to see the Australian pearl farm en route. Arrive at An Thoi port and take a fishing boat to the An Thoi archipelago. Drop anchor in a quite bay and try your hand at angling. Compete with your fellow passengers to see who can catch the most fish. Then enjoy a delicious barbecued seafood lunch. After disembarking, drive to Sao beach to go swimming or simply relax in the beach hammocks. Visit Ham Ninh fishing village on the way back to the hotel. Dinner on guests account. Overnight at your chosen resort on Phuquoc island.

Day 3 : Phu Quoc ( Natural forest in the North ) ( B,L )

Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to the North to discover the primitive unspoiled forest, visit the black pepper plantation at Khu Tuong and go sightseeing in Phu Quoc national park. Then head for Dai beach and go swimming in the crystal-clear water. After lunch, return to your hotel. At leisure in the afternoon. Dinner on guests account. Overnight at your chosen resort on Phuquoc island.

Day 4 : Phu Quoc - Hochiminh city ( B )

Breakfast at your hotel. Free until transfer to the airport for boarding flight VN 480 to Ho Chi Minh City (2.30 - 4.30pm). End of services
